Senior IT Engineer Connectivity and Network | Regio: Zuid-Limburg

Within the department of Connectivity and Network, the IT Network engineer IV will be part of an international team with colleagues from all continents, working out of the offices of our client located in Zuid Limburg, the Netherlands, cooperating with suppliers worldwide. Within this environment the function of IT Network Engineer IV acts as the primary responsible for the networking in a specific region. The main goal of the IT Network Engineer IV within the IT Infrastructure is to maintain the global infrastructure network in a pro-active manner.

Job summary:

Within the department of Connectivity and Network, the IT Network engineer IV will be part of an international team with colleagues from all continents, working out of the offices of our client located in Zuid Limburg, the Netherlands, cooperating with suppliers worldwide. Within this environment the function of IT Network Engineer IV acts as the primary responsible for the networking in a specific region. The main goal of the IT Network Engineer IV within the IT Infrastructure is to maintain the global infrastructure network in a pro-active manner.

  1. External: Entities that use CDC processes and applications for Customer Service and Service 24h, in particular Compass@Dealer and M4T. Specifically these entities consist of MPC partners, C@D Users from the retail organization and technicians in the field

  2. External: Entities that use processes and applications of our client for Sales Funnel Management (SFM) and Trucks MB uptime.

  3. External: call centers, others that the call centers of our client that make use of the CDC applications.

  4. Internal: CAC and satellite employees that make use of CDC applications

  5. Internal: Project related work, i.e. (bulk) data changes/activation, creating documentation, answer project related questions, etc.

The IT Network engineer IV is responsible taking appropriate actions and plans that enable fast solving of incidents and enquiries. In addition to this the IT Network Engineer IV will take a project leader role in IT network related projects, be it in the CWW Roll out or in one of the internal upgrade/migration projects.

Tasks and responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain three regional redundant datacenters in US, EMEA and APAC

  • Ensuring continues improvements in all aspects of life-cycle management

  • Investigating and resolving 2nd and 3rd level incidents; activities in the area of incident, problem, change and configuration management

  • Establishment of reporting and dashboards for real time and historical analyses

  • Support users in more than 50 countries around the globe and the clock (>1.500 end users)

  • Support the Lead Service Architects in defining new solutions design

  • Provide project support for expansion of our Contact center (capacity and expansion requirements for new countries)

  • Maintain and establish vendor relationships with service providers and IT integrators

  • Annual execution and reporting of disaster recovery concepts

Requirements:

Technical knowledge:

  • Vocational or Bachelor degree or relevant work experience

  • CCNP Routing and Switching certified or equivalent knowledge

  • Experience with setting up IT Service operations

  • Practical experience with Network security and services:

  • Checkpoint;

  • Citrix Netscaler;

  • Juniper;

  • QoS, and Voice over IP

  • Experience with datacenter network technologies:

  • Cisco Nexus;

  • VMware NSX

  • Experienced in working with the following network protocols:

  • Border Gateway Protocol;

  • Cisco Overlay Transport Protocol;

  • VXLAN.

Problem solving skills:
